No one living today will be around on January 1, 3000 to see the opening of the Time Capsule standing at the Weston Pavilion entry to the Natural Museum of History, NYC. The capsule of gleaming stainless steel includes an assortment of random items -- a soccer jersey, NYT archived magazines, penicillin from France, hair samples of Dolly, the cloned sheep, and post-it-notes. In a misting rain, the sculpture gleams brightly. The artist, Santiago Calatrava, describes it as a flower. I see welcoming wings.
