My phalaenopsis orchid came through. Yes it did. Posting a new shoot and ten buds in late February, it produced all ten blooms by April first, and that is no April fool's joke. Every few mornings a new bloom would greet me with floral perfection - shape, color, intricate detail - a jeweler's case opening drawers one after another to reveal its precious contents. I marvel at the mystery of unfolding from hidden recesses. What botanists explain in scientific terms, a poet's phrasing would better express my awe of wonder.
