They lined up early, several hours before the event. Yesterday was the touted Lincoln Center world premiere of the Great Gatsby movie. By happenstance, picking up ballet tickets, I confronted an assembling of "stars" in their own right waiting for the down-the-black carpet (not red) arrival of luminaries Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan. The afternoon was early-summer warm and gatherers were lightly dressed. I did not hang around for Leonardo and Carey. I figured that I got my own images of beautiful stars, willing and able to pose close up. I did not ask for autographs.
