A macro lens provides strange and fascinating images of flowers. Petals float and swerve, colors meld and melt in a splashing painterly effect. Focus on the stem or on the calyx, even on the rim of the cut glass vase. Then see what emerges. Each image dances in a variegated pattern quite different from the preceding one. Yes, I know it is the photographer not the camera that takes the picture, but come on! A great macro lens, a tripod, or a timer can aid in ways unimaginable.
