Branches lacy with blossoms of the weeping cherry arch over the Lake in Central Park. The shimmering water with its golden cast at certain times of day becomes a backdrop for the delicate blooms. The images suggest the scrolls of the Japanese artist Itō Jakuchū (1716-1800). His paintings incorporated flowers and birds in exquisite detail with a layering effect of pigments. Too bad no birds or butterflies entered my scenes. There is always photoshop!
