The East River in NYC at times appears calm and placid, at other times wild and turbulent with whirling currents and flashing surf. No matter. It serves as waterway for tugs, tours boats, sail and other leisure boats throughout the day heading upstream and downstream. It was fun photographing them through the windows of the New York Presbyterian Hospital at York and 68th Street, watching some speed by leaving wide wakes. But now I look forward to being on one of the boats myself.
