They hang on even when so many have left and the tinkling piano notes have ceased. Still in finery, somewhat mussed and worn, they cut a pretty figure. I watch their fluttery motions. I hear a melody and lyrics. "...take off your makeup, the dream must end, the party's over, my friend."
