Mutation tells the story of Axel, the Scottish fold cat, a breed with the dominant-gene mutation that affects cartilage through the body, causing the ears to "fold" forward and down towards the front of their head, giving an "owl-like" appearance. (Wikipedia)
Axel is one of my son's sweet cats, friendly and docile, enjoying rest times and making eye contact. His amber eyes and silky cream-colored fur coat are certainly attractive. I wonder if he knows. In a household with three other tabbies, he is the unique one.
