Two days ago, on a walk on Riverside Drive, I photographed a blooming cherry tree with its branches fanning past the Soldiers' and Sailors' Civil War Memorial. The pink blooms added delicate contrast to the marble and granite of the Corinthian temple design. Two days later, another walk promising my husband a stunning view disappointed. The blooms were gone, just branches. Pink petals lay on the ground. Fortunately, i had the photograph as proof of the beauty. And surprise! I posted it in Flickr (under my screen name Dorchester) and on the 23rd, it made Explore, Flickr's Daily Artist Showcase of the 500 most interesting images.
